It takes just 3 seconds to heat water, and roughly 20 minutes to cool the entire 0.5L internal cold water storage tank.

Note: that as long as the system is plugged in, it will continue to replenish cold water as needed. While cooling water, you’ll see a “Cooling” alert on-screen. Cold water may still be dispensed during this time, however water may not be as cold as when fully chilled.

If you plug in the machine and only see the “normal” and “16oz” buttons on-screen, press and hold “normal” and “16oz” for 3 seconds. This will allow you to see the full display.

While plastics can break down into microplastics over time, this process is usually triggered by prolonged exposure to high heat, chemicals, or significant wear and tear. Softer plastics, like those used in disposable water bottles, are more prone to shedding microplastics.

CovePure’s pitcher is made from thick, BPA/BPF/BPS-free plastic called styrene acrylonitrile, which was specifically chosen for its resistance to household chemicals such as dishwasher detergent. It also offers excellent heat resistance and mechanical strength, ensuring durability and further minimizing the risk of microplastic shedding.

Additionally, it’s lightweight, making the pitcher easier to lift, pour, and clean without compromising stability. CovePure has been rigorously tested by third-party labs to meet NSF/ANSI standards for chemicals like BPA and PFAs — contaminants often linked to microplastic concerns. It’s certified to remove over 99% of these substances, ensuring safe and clean drinking water.

Full test reports are available here for reference.

The system will alert you whenever it’s time for a refill. The whole process should take no more than 1-2 minutes.

Step 1: Remove the tank lid.
Step 2: Grab the handle on the tank and gently lift to detach the tank from the system.
Step 3: Discard the waste water into the sink.
Step 4: Once empty, fill the tank with tap water up to the “max fill” line.
Step 5: Place the tank back into the system and cover with the lid.

Reverse osmosis (RO) is a water purification process that uses a special membrane with tiny holes to filter out contaminants. Using high pressure, water molecules are forced through this membrane, while larger impurities are left behind. In essence, reverse osmosis acts like a microscopic strainer, allowing only pure water molecules to pass through. This method effectively removes up to 99.9% of bacteria, chemicals, and heavy metals from water, which is why it is often considered the gold standard in water purification.

Reverse osmosis systems produce cleaner, better-tasting water and can be cost-effective compared to buying bottled water.

You’ll hear some noise coming from the system while it’s purifying water, as well as a moderate-level fan noise when it’s cooling water to replenish its cold water reservoir.

Please note, when you use the system for the first time, the cooling process may take slightly longer as the system chills the entire 0.5L tank. After the initial cooling, the system will operate more efficiently, only chilling the amount of water you dispense each time.

Outside of those two times, you won’t hear any noise at all!

Yes, the CP-16 has been third-party tested according to NSF/ANSI 42, 53 & 58 standards.

Reports can be found here.

Filter life varies depending on the quality of your water and usage of the system. Please refer to the chart below for a rough guide:

PCB RO
Below 300 TDS 6 months 24 months
300-800 TDS 4.5 months 18 months
Above 800 TDS 3 months 12 months

Under your account page, go to the “My subscriptions” section, then toggle on to subscribe.

We’ll send you filters whenever your filter life is about to run out. PCB filters will be shipped every 6 months, and RO filters will be shipped every 18 months.

The machine dispenses water from 50°F all the way up to 212°F, with the ability to select temperatures in between.

By default, the system dispenses warm water at 113°F and hot water at 212°F. To change the default temperature:

Step 1: Hold the “hot” or “warm” icon for 3 seconds.
Step 2: Use the “+” or “-” icons to select your desired temperature.
Step 3: Press either the “hot” or “warm” icon once to save your selection.

Going forward, every time you select ‘hot’ or ‘warm’ the system will dispense water at that temperature.

Step 1: Hold the “custom” icon for 3 seconds.
Step 2: Use the “+” or “-” icons to select your desired amount.
Step 3: Press the “custom” icon once to save your selection.

Going forward, every time you select “custom”, the system will dispense the amount you selected.

This is a built-in child safety feature to prevent any scalding or accidents.

Currently, the CP-16 only supports imperial units. Fahrenheit for temperature and fluid ounces for water volume.

Step 1: Press and hold the “custom” and “16oz” buttons for 3 seconds.
Step 2: Press “custom” to choose the filter you are replacing (PCB or RO will flash on-screen).
Step 3: Hold “custom” and “16oz” again for 3 seconds to save your selection.
Step 4: After you hear 3 beeps, filter life will be reset to 100% for the filter you’ve chosen.

The CP-16 has an external water tank of 5L, internal cold water tank of 0.5L, and external pure water pitcher of 1.8L.

No, CovePure currently only works with 110V outlets.

TDS stands for total dissolved solids in your water and is a measure of the water’s purity. This number is measured in parts per million (ppm). So for example, if your TDS reading says 20, that means for every 1 million particles of water, there are 20 dissolved solids.

Raw TDS refers to the TDS of the water you are filling the system with. Pure TDS refers to the TDS of the water that is being dispensed from the system or pitcher.

When you see on your CovePure system that Pure TDS is much lower than Raw TDS, it means that the filtration is working!

While TDS is a good basic measurement of water quality, it doesn’t paint the full picture. TDS simply refers to the number of dissolved solids in the water that are not H2O molecules.

However, not all dissolved solids are bad – in the last stage of filtration, our alkaline filter returns beneficial minerals like calcium and magnesium back into the water – providing you with balanced, healthy drinking water. This can increase the amount of TDS in your water, but is, in fact, a good thing!

CovePure recirculates a small amount of waste water with every purification cycle. This is designed for maximum efficiency so that you don’t need to refill the machine as often.

The waste water will continue to go through our 4-stage purification system, so you can rest assured that your water’s purity stays the same.

The pitcher can hold 1.8L of water.

If you live in a high altitude area where the boiling point of water is lower, the water will turn to steam when you select hot water. To resolve this issue, press and hold the “hot” water icon for 3 seconds and use the “-” icon to lower the default temperature to 195°F.

Then, press “hot” once to save your selection. This will ensure that the water temperature never goes above boiling point when dispensing hot water.
